A Travellerspoint blog

Day 9: 14th Dec

sunny 29 °C

We had a very comfortable night at the Simpson Bay Resort. Grant and I paid a visit to the resort's small but very well stocked grocery store for some juice and milk. After a light breakfast we checked out and left our luggage at the resort.
We caught a bus into the centre of Philipsburg and had a look at some of the shops and market stalls. At midday we stopped at a beach front bar called Blue Bitch were we had a surprisingly tasty lunch.
After lunch we caught a taxi back to the resort to collect our bags and followed straight on to the airport.
At 3pm we caught the St. Barths Commuter flight and less than ten minutes later we arrived on beautiful St. Barths.
We were met by Lionel (Rosita's eldest son) and after collecting our car rental from Odile, we all headed over to Lorient and the stunning Les Basses villa. Lionel gave us a quick guided tour and then Grant and I headed out to Marche U to do some grocery shopping and to collect a suitcase from the airport that never made it with us.
The evening was spent unpacking, eating a homemade meal of quiche salad and watching TV.
