Day 11: 16th Dec

Having a boulangerie just across the road from the villa really does have its advantages! I bought a croissant and an apple slice and we all enjoyed a lovely breakfast with freshly brewed coffee.
After breakfast, all of us took a drive around the island to see if there were any calm bays where we may have a chance if snorkelling. Sadly, it looked as though the high waves would prevent any snorkelling this time.
We then drove into Gustavia and paid a quick stop at the supermarket. We could see all the mega yachts lined up at the harbour each one looking more impressive than the next.
We drove over to Saline with the intention of having lunch at Grain de Sel only to discover that it was closed.
So instead we headed over to Colombier and had a delicious meal at les Bananiers. Dad opted for the plat du jour which was coconut chicken with rice. For Grant there was no choice but to order one of his favourite dishes, fusilli pasta with morel mushrooms which was just as tasty as ever. I opted for tuna tataki which came with a portion of rice.
After lunch we headed back to the villa and spent the rest of the afternoon sunbathing and walking along Lorient beach.
In the evening we walked over to Koya for a light sushi dinner. We treated ourselves to some local vanilla rum before bedtime.
